So You Want To Build a Wind Turbine
I glad to be able to tell you that building a wind turbine is with the correct instructions really easy. When I started looking into building my own wind turbine I was worried about how I would connect them to my house or the mains as I’m not an electrician.
I’m happy to say that I found a really good guide that explained everything I needed to know to build my first turbine in a single weekend. My friends and family couldn’t believe I had built it all myself (I’m not that good at building stuff normally), I smiled and explained that it was actually easy

What Materials Do I Need?
Its important to get all the materials before you start your build project, last thing you want is to be half way through the build and not have whats needed to finish.
A list of basic materials you will need.
- PVC sheets or plywood
- white glue
- eye screws
- washers
- LED
- 1/4 square dowel
- disk magnets
- magnetic or copper wire
Most of the items can be brought from hardware stores.

How Much Will It Cost To Build My Own Wind Turbine?
You can build a wind turbine for less than $200, less if you are able to source parts cheaply.
You can use old washing machine motors to reduce costs, if you do not have an old washing machine go to a breakers yard.
